Located at the entrance, this beautiful image shows St. Thomas à Becket in fidelity to Jesus and his Church surrendering his life; as the king's men strike him with deadly blows of their swords. The German Renaissance painter Meister Francke painted this piece somewhere around 1420 in Hamburg, Kunstalle. What we have here is a beautiful reproduction of the original work of art.
