The chair used by the Presider of the Liturgy is a visual reminder of Jesus' promise before ascending into Heaven: "And look, I am with you always; Yes, to the end of time." Matthew 28:20. It is Jesus Himself who is present and leading his People at every Sacred Liturgy. Human beings are his instruments, but the Will, Power, and Glory are the Lord's.
